SKYFOLD APPLICATION BY INTERIOR TECHNOLOGY<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Sometimes the right product solution for a design challenge is the marriage of two \u2013 and the new Tahoma High School in Maple Valley, WA, represented the perfect opportunity to showcase that. DLR Group Architects reached out early in the process seeking a unique solution to their flexible space needs in their large stepped auditorium. Serving as both a regional learning center and a community center, flexibility was key to the success of the design.<\/p>\n

20-foot (6.1 meter) tall manually operated Modernfold Encore (STC 56) partition bisect the space into two, and the stepped Skyfold Classic provided the ideal flexible solution to divide the raised seating section in the rear of the auditorium. The coordination of the intersecting soffits and track\/panel\/seals interaction was critical.<\/p>\n

The auditorium has very nice wood and fabric finishes, including the built-in wood desks. Mike Janes, the project designer from DLR Group says, \u201cWe wanted it to be divisible so this 600-seat auditorium was not sitting there empty when not being used. Skyfold allowed the room to be quickly changed to accommodate smaller groups, without a lot of effort. Having three smaller halls allowed there to be theatre practice going on in the front of the auditorium, and classes or testing sessions in the two back sections.\u201d<\/p>\n
